Alright i'm really sorry i know im really late for tyhis blog that was due friday but i thought maybe you would accept this mrs. eakin. if i were to vote for president i would go for the democrats. i would vote for barrack obama because he is bringing alot of new views into our country and i like that. He is big on education and i think that is a big thing in making a good strong country is an educated youth. Barrack is also confident and doesn't really have negative campaigns. i also just don't want hilary to win because i think its unfair. she and her husband already ran 2 terms togetrher and for her to be president for another term seems unfair to me because her husband was president. I wou8ldn't vote republican but if i did i would vote for McCain just because i think he would stimulate the economy best. Thats all i have to say about this election and hi joe!!!!!!!

okay, well first, i know this is late (shame on me), but i thought i should give my thoughts anyway. well if i was voting democrat i would deffinately give my vote to Barack Obama. education is very important to me and after doing some research it looks as if it is also important to him as well. He wants to reform the NCLB concept, which i think is needed mucho. he wants to make it that the schools who need the help are being supported and not denied. he also wants to expand summer learning possibilities which i believe is a good thing for those kids who couldnt fully "get" everything they needed throughout the course of the school year. also Obama seems really concerned with the envirnment, as am i, so after reading his views on those issues gave him my vote. And if i were to be voting republican i would vote for John McCain. He also is worried about the environment and the economy and says that "a clean and healthy envirnoment is well served by a strong economy" although i like his views on a lot of the big issues of the world, i do not like his attempt to protect the 2nd ammendment. i do not think that it is necessicary for an average person to have a gun on their person. i can understand if you are a police officer or someone of that nature, but i really do not like the idea of regular people being able to have guns and other weapons.

after reading some of my perr's blogs i feel like i have to comment! Just like many of my peers i did not touch the issue of abortion because of my conflicting views! I strongly oppose abortion because in that action you stop a beating heart! When stooping a beating heart you kill someone so this is why i am against it!
I do on the other hand think of those who might have been raped or health issues come up. I think that if you dont fall under one ofthose two categories you should not be allowed to carry throught with an abortion!
As you can see i have very strong beliefs in this subject and so do many other poeple! Their are many conflicting views on this subject and this is why i totaly believe that politians should deffinately STAY AWAY from campaigning with their views on this subject!

To start off with i must say that the Iraq war was the BIGGEST issue for me! Many people do not agree with the war or our current president. My beliefs are very different in that i fully support the war in Iraq and our president!!! Our president did what he had to do to make this country more secure and looking at some of the democratic canidates for this election they agreed with Bush at the time.If we really take time to look at this the war was a reaction to 9/11 and no matter who was in office I believe they would have done the same thing. I believe the disagreements start when you look at the length of the war. (ok i just needed to get those thoughts down so you knew where i was comming from when i was arguing the issues below.)
Republicans:I am mainly focused on McCain and Hukabee because of their stands on the war. Paul thinks the war is bogus and I disagree right there! McCain is a supporter of the war. He supported Bush's veto of the war spending bill which would have brought troops home by March 2008. He was also an early supporter of sending additional troops to Iraq. Huckabee supports the war but wants to bring troops home soon. Looking at where each stands my vote lies with McCain! The reason for this is because I don't think troops should be brought home by March. Instead i think they should be brought home when their government is stable because we just can't pull out now because we are in too deep and if we pulled out now the country would revert to what is was before! As far as the war goes i agree a 100% with McCain so that is where my vote goes. I also looked at health care but they both want it to be more affordable.
Democrats: As far as i'm concerned the only two democrats worth looking at are Clinton and Obama. Three years ago Clinton voted to authorize the war but now she says that vote was a mistake. She opposes the troop increase and wants an end of war date. She is also looking at the first 60 days of her administration to bring troops home.(plus as sam said it is a 2 for 1 deal with her and i don't think as a country we need that right now!) Obama now wants the war to end but gradually and not the moment he steps into office. He has thought out a 16 month plan to withdrawl troops. My vote has to go to Obama for the democrats! First off I believe this country has 1 president for a reason and Clinton as president would be not only Hilary but Bill Clinton too. It was very easy for me to choose who i would pick for this party because i don't think Hilary Clinton knows exactly what she wants and needs to get her thoughts straight,(does she back the troops, support the end of the war, and does she really think that her vote was a mistake?)On a different note i disagree with them both that the war should end now but because i have to choose i choose Obama because he wants a more gradual pull out of troops. I also believe that he knows more of what he wants and is very confident in his campaign!
After looking at the issues I have chose McCain for the republican canidate and Obama for the democratic canidate because of the above reasons. Coincidently i believe both of the canidates i chose will win their party because of their views on the war because the war is such a predominant issue today! If i had to predict who would win president out of McCain and Obama i would choose McCain. The reason for this thought is because I don't know how ready the country is for an African American president?!(not that I am against it but i'm not sure how others will take it!?!)
Oh and yes I'm late but comcast STINKS and i did't have internet last night! We always end up loosing internet when i need it the most! haha isn't that how it always works? So, i figured turning it in a couple hours late is better then just forgetting about it!

myspace, but with teachers...hmmmm... now that's a interesting way of looking at our blog

Today and tomorrow are left for anyone who didn't blog on time to still receive credit.

This Blog has probably been the best for getting you guys to stretch your selves and LEARN real-world information. So thank you to all who went out there and did their best, I just wish every student would, you get so much from it, and in the future you will see the benefits (honest)

Keep adding to this blog as you see fit during this long weekend (when you are not bowling etc.) and we'll tie it all up next week in class. Berni - hope you feel better!

The Democratic candidate should be Hillary Clinton. She agrees with and believes in most of the issues I do. For one she is pro-choice, believing that women have the right to choose abortion. But Clinton also believes that it should not be used as birth control. She also wants to talk to teenagers to reduce the number of teen pregnancies, therefore limiting the number of abortions. Barack Obama says nothing of the fact to talk to teens to limit the number. Another point is gay rights. Clinton believes that your orientation should not matter in order to be in the military. These slogans are part of her campaign: ¨Gay soldiers need to shoot straight, not be straight¨ and ¨Military service based on conduct, not sexual orientation¨. Barack mentions nothing about allowing gays in the military in his campaign. Lastly, only Hillary, out of all of the candidates for both parties, says anything about lowering the cost of college and making preschool through college available to all. Not to mention she has the experience of her husband being in office and she is a woman. Her being a woman is just an added bonus at the end.

The Republican candidate is a hard choice for me because I don’t believe in a lot of their issues. If I must choose, it would be John McCain. McCain is Green and wants to save our Earth. This is something that everyone should want. When it comes to abortion McCain is pro-life, which I do not agree with, but he does support federal funding of embryonic stem cell research. Although he is pro-life he would rather have legal abortions than dangerous illegal abortions. That is why John McCain is my choice for the Republican candidate.
